Historical Plymouth is, as you would guess from your history classes, on the water (Cape Cod Bay). We have visited these preserves in Plymouth:
The Center Hill Preserve is a large preserve with two sections, one on each side of Center Hill Road. On one side (west) are a woods and abandoned cranberry bog. Despite what the write-up linked to above says, we did not feel the trails were particularly well marked. The walk goes through the woods and around the bog.
We don't have a picture of this, but a house near the entrance has a very tall wind turbine. Seems like an interesting way to provide yourself some power, but it was surprisingly noisy!
The other, smaller, side goes down to the water and a beach. The exposed hillside shows that the land is basically sand here.
This beach has great colorful stones.
