Our house had a wood stove that we never used, and a lovely stone fireplace that we could barely even see because it was obstructed by so many plants. So we decided to get rid of the wood stove and put in a gas fireplace insert. We were fortunate that the fireplace was installed when it was, because after that we got a series of snowstorms. The biggest of those was indeed a blizzard.
