Part of Ocean View Farm Reserve is actually a farm. It is relatively new as a reserve, having only formed in 2017. The non-profit farm Round the Bend, headquartered on the adjacent property, does the farming. The southern section of the property is the nature reserve section. There is a moderately long walk (3/4 mile) along the edge of the farm.

They had some cattle.

The view on the way to the observation deck is expansive. The first marshy area is part of Allens Pond (same pond as at the Audubon Allens Pond Wildlife Sanctuary), then on the other side of that sandy is Buzzard's Bay.

Looking back north, to the farm, is also a rather attractive view.

This link shows the location viewing platform that we were walking to.

As with many coastal spots in this area, there were Osprey at Ocean View. This shallow area of Allens Pond contains multiple platforms for Osprey nest (at least 6). And they are being used! There are at least 5 Osprey in this picture, which we have labelled for your reference.

There was also a Snowy Egret in Allens Pond, looking for a meal. Paul got a series of pictures of the Egret. Notice the bird's colorful yellow feet that show in the first picture. (Putting your mouse cursor over the pictures will pause the slideshow.)

Meanwhile, Anne took a picture of a slug.

And of some thistle type plant:

We will leave you with another pretty picture of the Snowy Egret.
