Continued from Page 5 ...

We got gas and then I wanted to take a country road shown on the tourist map. It was a great choice, a well maintained dirt road. On a side road we found some cows.

We stopped at a store called Green Top Market. If for some reason you find yourself in Morristown Corners, check it out. Nice spot. (Update 2020: It looks to have been replaced by Black Diamond Barbeque - unfortunate, although the menu here looks good, even including a homemade vegan burger.)Driving back to Stowe we found a lovely mountain cemetery.

Another nice drive from there south to Stowe. The road we took provided an excellent view of the profile of Mount Mansfield. We stopped at the well maintained entrance to a house to take some pictures.

Back in Stowe, just down the road from our lodge, is a corn field. Unfortunately, the Minnesota experts (Pat specifically) said that they could not find good corn locally; our timing might have been off.

Dad, Cristina, Cori, Jeremy, & children made supper that night. We also had a little celebration for Ted's birthday. Matt had arranged to get a cake, and specified a beer theme. We were all very impressed by the results.
