Cape Cod Page 3

January 2016

(continued from )

The Highland Lighthouse, sometimes simply called Cape Cod Lighthouse, is famous not only for being a primary lighthouse on Cape Cod.  It is also famous for having to be moved back from the shoreline to prevent losing it.

(That second picture was taken from a spot slightly closer than the previous position of the lighthouse.)

On the way home, we stopped at Nobska Lighthouse, in Woods Hole.  We were fortunate to have a lovely sunset.

The following pictures have not been artificially enhanced.  If you think they are too saturated, you are going to have to complain to Mother Nature.  ;)

Pastel pink and blue sunset clouds above a calm shoreline and dark headland

Sunset glow along the horizon beneath streaked clouds over calm water

Brilliant red and orange sunset streaks above dark water and a low distant shoreline

Long red and orange sunset bands stretching across the sky above calm water, with a ferry at the far right

If you were on the Martha's Vineyard Ferry that evening, you had a lovely view!
