New Hampshire Vacation Page 5

Another spot in the area that we like to go to is the village of Jackson.  This is a very scenic and historic village, famous for it's cross-country ski trails and red covered bridge.  There is a nice section of Wildcat River, an Ellis River tributary, here.  Looking upstream:

Tiered cascades flowing over broad granite ledges in Jackson with the green covered bridge above

Close view of layered falls pouring over dark rock shelves in the Wildcat River

Looking downstream.  The impressive looking peak on the left is North Moat:

Wildcat River flowing toward dark mountains in late-afternoon light, with pines framing the view

Low view across the lip of the river toward dark mountain slopes and pink evening clouds

Looking midstream:

Close view of water rushing over a multi-tiered rock ledge in the river

Abstract long-exposure view of blue-gray river water flowing in smooth diagonal streaks

The water in one spot really looked like that picture immediately above.

It was rather cold that day.  Here is Anne bundled up.

And before we leave this page, some cute little pine codes:

Pine cone and small seed resting on brightly colored blue-green rock with scattered pine needles

To the of the report ...
