Boothbay Harbor 2015: The Shore (2 of 3)

Barrett Park is a small park that is certainly crowded with picnickers during the season.  In early May there were a few people, but it looks to be used more by lobsterman.  And at least one has some new traps!

One evening we headed North to the next peninsula.  We drove through Damariscotta

and even had supper at a restaurant there, "Best Thai Food".  Not a particularly imaginative name, but we were very pleased with their food.  Pemequid Lighthouse was our destination.  This is a scenic lighthouse, very famous, and with fabulous rock in its coastline.  We wanted to be there at sunset, to enjoy some of the soft lighting that time of the day provides.

If you want to learn more about the rocks, this is a link to the Maine Geological Survey report for Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.  For contrast, here is a report for Ogunquit.
